Assessments
New Century provides teachers and administrators with three categories of assessment, all of which automatically score, report, and either create or adjust individualized lesson paths for each student. They also provide the data for teachers and administrators to group students by needs and to adjust whole classroom instruction where it is needed most.
Diagnostic Assessments were designed in conjunction with researchers from ETS and use dynamic item response theory to quickly "drill down" and determine the strengths and weaknesses of a student across several strands of learning. Interim Assessments are automatically embedded in the lesson path, and change as the lesson path changes. Self-administered, scored, and reported, these assessments confirm student, class, and group mastery of state and district benchmarks. Summative Assessments Blueprinted to State Proficiency Tests are available in multiple forms and help teachers and administrators measure student gains toward proficiency. Tests are automatically administered, scored, and reported. When a student passes the New Century Summative Assessment, it is predictive of his ability to pass the actual test. Reports are available by student, group, or class. Results instantly generate an individualized lesson path to teach any skills a student still must master to pass the test. More
