Press Release
New Century Integrated Instructional System Approved by the
California Learning Resource Network (CLRN)
(September, 2002, Piscataway, New
Jersey) New Century Education Corporation is pleased to announce
that its Integrated Instructional System software has been approved by the
California Learning Resource Network (CLRN).
CLRN provides California educators with a "one-stop" source
for critical information needed for the selection of supplemental electronic
learning resources aligned to the State Board of Education
academic content standards and linked to model lesson plans utilizing
technology. CLRN’s review process utilizes
the State Board of Education approved review
criteria covering three areas: Legal Compliance, Standards
Alignment, and Minimum Requirements. Approval by CLRN ensures educators that
the instructional program’s curriculum and assessments have undergone extensive
review and have been determined to embody the implementation of the California
curriculum framework and standards.
The New Century Integrated Instructional System
provides a complete and comprehensive curriculum for individualized instruction
in reading, writing, and mathematics for elementary, middle and high schools
and adult education programs. To
support the needs of California educators, the curriculum content has been
correlated to the California Framework as well as to the state’s High School
Exit Exam. The correlations are integrated with the New Century
Management System to help teachers maintain focus on state instructional
objectives and testing goals. Using
tools incorporated in the program’s management software, teachers can provide appropriate
standards-based instruction to a single student or an entire group with just a
few clicks.
