The New Century software-based curriculum is designed from clearly delineated educational objectives and can be directly correlated to state frameworks and testing requirements. Experts in their respective fields were consulted in the development of each of the program’s curriculum components, in accordance with the most effective practices in the subject area. Lessons conform to a consistent format and software environment, and follow a Madeline Hunter design incorporating carefully structured sequences of instruction and practice.  

New Century’s systematic synthetic phonics based reading curriculum has evolved during the company’s history and was guided by Dr. Jeanne Chall, Dr. Helen Popp, and Dr. Lawrence Mace, and developed under the direction of Dr. Stuart Margulies. The curriculum is consistent with the findings of the National Reading Panel, and includes the five essential building blocks of a successful reading program.
