Press Release
New Century
Education Opens Supplemental Services Centers
(December, 2003, Piscataway, New Jersey)
New Century Education Corporation is pleased to
announce the launch of its Supplemental Services after school programs in
Montgomery County, Alabama. Two New
Century Learning Centers in Montgomery will
provide tutoring to approximately 200 eligible students. The programs are operated by New Century
Education Services Corporation, a
subsidiary of New Century Education Corporation. The New Century after
school program model combines individually targeted computer based intervention
with rotating small group instruction to boost the reading and math achievement
of the participating students. Diagnostic
information for each student, obtained from the New Century assessments, will
guide both computer-based and teacher directed instruction.
New Century Education Services is an approved
Supplemental Services Provider in the state of Alabama and has full
responsibility for the operation of these after school programs. “This is an
exciting new venture for the company, and a logical extension of our mission,”
states James Griffin, Chief Executive Officer of New Century Education. Karen Rose, Vice President of Education
Support for the company, confirms that: “These centers will provide
individually tailored tutoring services to the students with greatest need, and
at the same time demonstrate New Century’s Supplemental Services program model
to districts who may wish to implement it in their area.” New Century’s
Supplemental Services solution is roughly half the cost of traditional
one-on-one or small group tutorial options, making it possible for a district
to serve more students with the funds allocated for
Supplemental Services.
New Century
Education
provides instructional software to help students of all ages and ability levels

individualized learning, its assessment and monitoring, and its curriculum are
the products of New Century’s rich educational publishing experience and
expertise and its original research in learning behaviors and motivations. New
Century Education offers educators a complete program solution including
